The parliamentary elections in St. Lucia in 1987 ( English general elections ) were the fourteenth Parliament elections in St. Lucia .

The election took place on April 6, 1987. The winner was the United Workers Party , which won nine of the seventeen seats. The turnout was 60.8%. Due to the weak lead, then Prime Minister John Compton called for new elections, which only confirmed the result. These were held on April 30th.
