Parliamentary elections in Belgian Urundi 1961
Parliamentary elections were held in the Kingdom of Burundi on September 8, 1961 to install a government that would rule the country following Belgium's independence on July 1, 1961.
The result was a victory for the Union pour le Progrès national (UPRONA), which received over 80% of the vote and 58 of the 64 seats in the National Assembly . The turnout was 75.39%.
