Parque Nacional Natural Las Orquídeas
The Parque Nacional Natural Las Orquídeas is a Colombian natural park founded in 1973 . It extends in the Antioquia department on the western side of the western Cordillera massif over an area of 32,000 hectares between 350 and 3400 meters above sea level . Due to the great height differences, there are a variety of different climatic conditions and different vegetation zones in the park. The temperatures fluctuate between 4 and 26 ° C. The park is named after the countless species of orchids that are native to it. But also a number of bird species such as the Piaya cayana and representatives of the genus Cotinga are native to the park.
