Part of the art
Part of the Art is the name of a German synth pop project.
The project manager of Part of the Art is the Cologne musician and composer Carsten Düsener. Since the mid-1990s, he has been experimenting with electronic sounds and composed numerous synth tracks with changing artists at his side.
history
Düsener started as a DJ in local clubs in 1988 and gained experience in order to launch his own artist project “Part of the Art” in the mid-1990s. He combined classical elements with modern electro sounds and made the music danceable for the clubs. This is how the album Opera Electronica was born, with which he was able to achieve his first respectable success in Asia. At the end of 2010 he teamed up with the singer, composer and actor Stephan Runge to record a studio album with Retronika .
Düsener composes and produces the music, Runge is responsible for the lyrics and the vocals. Both musicians are influenced by the synth-pop sound of the 1980s, by pop-wave bands such as the Pet Shop Boys , Visage , Human League and Propaganda .
