Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico
The Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico ( PLRA , German Authentic Radical Liberal Party) is a liberal party in Paraguay .
Founded by Domingo Laíno in 1978 as an opposition to Alfredo Stroessner's dictatorship , it goes back to the old Partido Liberal of 1881. Along with the Partido Colorado, it is one of the two major parties in Paraguay and was a member of the party alliance Alianza Patriótica para el Cambio . She is a member of the Liberal International . Its current chairman is Miguel Abdón Saguier .
The last president from the ranks of the Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico was Federico Franco , after Fernando Lugo was deposed as president of the Congress in 2012, so that the vice-president Franco took over the office. His term of office ended in August 2013.
