Partido MAN

The Partido MAN is a Curaçao political party founded in 1971 that has held two of the 21 seats in the States of Curaçao since the 2012 parliamentary elections in Curaçao . In the elections that preceded the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles , the party also won two votes and joined the coalition government.

Surname

MAN originally stood for Movementu Antia Nobo ( dt : Movement of new Antilles), but a party congress in 2005 decided to drop the significance and to be MAN the name of the party itself.

Netherlands Antilles

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles Don Martina from 1979 to 1984 and from 1986 to 1988 was affiliated with MAN. In the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands Antilles , on January 18, 2002, the party won 5.2% of the vote and no seats, in the parliamentary elections of 2006 , the party returned to the Staten van de Nederlandse Antilles with 3 out of 14 seats of the Curaçao constituency in the 22-seat parliament. In the last parliamentary elections in the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, the party participated together with NPA and FK and received five seats.

In the Island Council of the Netherlands Antilles in 2003 and 2007, the party won 2 and 5 seats respectively. The party's two seats, which were elected to the Island Council in 2010, were retained as part of the Staten van Curaçao on October 10, 2010.
