Partido del Frente Cardenista de Reconstrucción Nacional

The Partido del Frente Cardenista de Reconstrucción Nacional (PFCRN; German : Party of the Cardenist Front of National Reconstruction ) was a political party in Mexico that emerged in 1987 from the Partido Socialista de los Trabajadores (PST) founded in 1978 and last in 1997 the name Partido Cardenista (PC) existed. The party chairman was Rafael Aguilar Talamantes from 1987 to 1997 .

"Cardenista" is derived from Cárdenas , the paternal surname of the former Mexican President Lázaro Cárdenas del Río , whose political ideas were followed by the PFCRN and PC. Due to the long party name and the abbreviation that could not be pronounced in word form, the PFCRN was colloquially known as "El Ferrocarril" (German: The Railway ).

The PFCRN ran in 1988 together with the PPS , the PARM and the PMS as " Frente Democrático Nacional ". In 1994 the PFCRN put its party leader Aguilar Talamantes as a candidate for the presidential election. In the same year, the PFCRN lost its approval as a national party, but received it again in 1996 and 1997 under its new name Partido Cardenista . After the Partido Cardenista was unsuccessful in the government elections in the Distrito Federal de México with the journalist Pedro Ferríz in 1997 , the party again lost its approval and was dissolved.
