Partido del Pueblo Mexicano

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Partido del Pueblo Mexicano (PPM; dt : Party of the Mexican People ) was a communist Mexican party that emerged from the split of the left wing of the Partido Popular Socialista (PPS) in 1976 and existed from 1977 to 1980.

General Secretary was Alejandro Gascón Mercado , who was one of the founding members of the PPM. The PPM participated in various political disputes and was the second largest political force in the state of Baja California Sur , which is now governed by the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD). The PPM joined together with the Partido Socialista Revolucionário (PSR) chaired by Roberto Jaramillos and the Movimiento de Acción y Unidad Socialista by Miguel Angel Velascos and other left-wing politicians, as well as the Partido Comunista Mexicano (PCM) chaired by Arnoldo Martínez Verdugo for Coalición de Izquierda (German: Coalition of the Left ) and took part in the first federal elections after the political reform of 1979. The PPM went on together with others in 1981 in the Partido Socialista Unificado de México (PSUM).
