Pat Sajak
Pat Sajak (born October 26, 1946 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American presenter. He hosts the American variant of the wheel of fortune ( Wheel of Fortune ) by CBS.
Pat Sajak was born the son of a Polish-American truck driver.
He began his career as a news anchor for a local radio station, where he presented the news from midnight to 6 a.m. In 1968 he joined the US Army and was sent to Vietnam. There he also worked as a radio announcer for the armed forces.
In 1977 he was hired by KNBC-TV in Los Angeles as a "weather man". Finally in 1981, Sajak was made by Merv Griffin, the creative director of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune asked if he would like to succeed Chuck Woolery. Sajak accepted and is still the presenter of the game show Wheel of Fortune . In 2001 he starred in the episode "Full Program" of the sitcom King of Queens .
Sajak's own talk show on CBS “flopped” and was quickly canceled.
