Path of the Weakening is the third album by the death metal band " Deeds of Flesh ". It is also the first release by Erik Lindmarks and Jacoby Kingstons record label Unique Leader Records .

background

The cover artwork was created by Jon Zig. The band swapped Brad Palmer for founding member Joey Heaslet, and the band took on a second guitarist (Jim Tkacz). This makes the sound of the album much denser. Furthermore, in contrast to the previous album, the guitars were tuned even further, which gives the music a dark mood. The album sold around 16,000 times and is the band's most successful album after Crown of Souls .

Text content

Similar to the previous album , Path of the Weakening is a concept album about a historical case of cannibalism . The so-called Donner Party , a trek of mostly German-born settlers, was on their way through the Sierra Nevada , where they were surprised by the onset of winter. People went hungry for weeks and some of them could only survive through cannibalism.
