Patrick Goudou

Patrick Goudou (* 1950 in Paris ) is a French manager and was the first Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) from 2003 to 2010 .

Goudou grew up in Paris and studied at the École Polytechnique and the Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace in Toulouse and specialized in aerospace engines . In 1975 he began to work for the French agency Direction générale de l'armement (DGA), which processes the arms contracts of the French armed forces and acts as a link between the state as the client and the industry. For ten years he was responsible for testing in the engine test center and then moved to the agency's management . In 1997 he went to the ship manufacturer DCN (today Direction des Constructions Navales ). In 2002 he was appointed chief executive of the armaments agency Service industriel de l'aéronautique and in 2003 the first director of the newly founded EASA.
