Patrick Hermanspann

Patrick Hermanspann (born February 20, 1971 ) is a former German national team swimmer from 1985 to 2005. He began his swimming career in 1981 at Wasserfreunde Wuppertal and then moved to SG Essen in 1992. In his career, he won more than 30 German youth Champion title and broke more than 15 German youth records. The core disciplines were 100 m and 200 m backstroke, 200 m medley and 400 m medley and various relays.

  • European Championship Espoo (FIN) bronze medal 50 m back
  • 2nd world ranking FINA 50 m back
1993
  • European Champion 50 m back and 4 × 50 m back (European Sprint Swimming Championships in Gateshead)
  • World Cup bronze medal 50 m back in Stockholm (Sweden)
  • German vice team champion with SG Essen
  • Silver medal 4 × 200 m freestyle at the World University Games Buffalo (USA)
  • 4th place in the world ranking list 50 m back
1994
  • World Cup silver medal in Paris and Hong Kong 50 m back
  • German team champion with SG Essen (DMS)

He was a multiple German champion and record holder in 4 × 100 m individual relay, 4 × 200 m freestyle and 4 × 100 m chest.

In 1995 he ended his swimming career.
