Patrick Siegele

Patrick Siegele (born 1974 ) is a German philologist.

Career

He studied German philology and musicology in Austria and Great Britain. Since 2014 he has been director of the Anne Frank Center in Berlin.

In his work, Patrik Siegele deals with historical-political educational work as well as in the prevention of anti-Semitism. Before he was appointed director of the Anne Frank Center, he was a curator for various historical, political and intercultural educational institutions.

Fields of activity

As coordinator of the independent expert group on anti-Semitism, Siegele administered the work of the expert group set up by the German Bundestag. (2015 to 2017) In his function as coordinator, he presented the “ Report of the independent expert group on anti-Semitism ” 2017 to the Interior Committee. Which u. a. demanded the appointment of an anti-Semitism commissioner for the federal government.

• since 2007: Member of the youth education commission and the commission for international educational work in the working group of German educational institutions
• since 2005: Member of the Task Force on Education against Antisemitism in the American Jewish Committee
• since 1999: Member of the memorial service association
