Paul Adolf Bamberg

Paul Adolf Bamberg (born April 3, 1876 in Berlin ; † 1946 ) was a German industrialist.

Life

Paul Adolf Bamberg was born as the son of the manufacturer of precision mechanics and optics Carl Bamberg . He attended high school in Berlin, Eisenach and Coburg. After graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic at Max Hildebrand in Freiberg in Saxony and Carl Zeiß in Jena. He then studied natural sciences at the universities of Berlin, Munich and Strasbourg. In Munich he became a member of the Corps Makaria in 1897 . In Strasbourg he joined the Corps Palaio-Alsatia in 1898 . After completing his studies and subsequent long trips abroad, he joined Carl Bamberg 's father's factory for precision mechanics and optics , which he became owner in 1904. At the beginning of 1921 the merger with the Centralwerkstatt Dessau took place to form Askania Werke AG . Bamberg moved up to the supervisory board of the new company and became its deputy chairman.

Paul Adolf Bamberg published numerous works on topics of Saxon coinage as well as treatises on family history. He was a member of various scientific societies.

Paul Adolf Bamberg was awarded the Prussian Royal Order of the Crown, 4th class.
