Paul Brandt (musician)
Paul Brandt (born July 21, 1972 in Calgary , Alberta ; actually Paul Rennee Belobersycky ) is a Canadian country singer.
Life
After training as a nurse, Paul Brandt worked for two years in a children's hospital. During this time he took part in various talent competitions where he performed songs he had written himself. In 1993 he won the Best Original Canadian Country Song category with Calm Before The Storm . Nashville became aware of the young up-and-coming singer. In 1995 he signed a record deal with the Reprise label. In 1996, his debut single, My Heart Has a History , was released, which peaked at number one in Canada. The album Calm Before The Storm , produced in the same year, was sold more than a million times. The single I Do reached the top of the US country charts.
