Paul Carson

Paul Carson (* 1949 in Newcastle ) is a British- Irish doctor and author.

From 1969 to 1975 he studied medicine at Trinity College , Dublin , where he specialized in pediatrics. After graduating, he first went to Australia ; he worked in a family practice attached to the hospital in Gawler , near the Barossa Valley in South Australia.

In 1984 he returned to Ireland and founded the Slievemore Clinic , which specializes in allergy and asthma in children. This is in the south of Dublin and Carson is still in charge today.

From 1984 to 1996 he wrote a number of medical articles and published five books on various health issues. During this time two books with stories for children were created. He also works as a social and health commentator for Irish radio and television.

In 1997, his first thriller appeared Scalpel , 17 weeks on the top 5 to Irish Times claimed and as TV thriller was filmed. His other literary publications were equally successful.

He is married with two children and lives in the south of Dublin.
