Paul Dean, Baron Dean of Harptree

(Arthur) Paul Dean, Baron Dean of Harptree PC ( September 14, 1924 - April 1, 2009 ) was a British politician and a member of the Conservative Party .

Dean served in the Welsh Guards during World War II and suffered a leg injury. He was from 1964 to 1983 MP for the constituency of Somerset North in the House of Commons , and from 1983 to 1992 for the constituency of Woodspring. In 1993 he was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Dean of Harptree , of Wedmore in the County of Somerset . He was then a member of the House of Lords .

In 1979 his first wife Doris Webb died. He married his second wife, Peggy Parker, in 1980. He had been widowed since 2002.
