Paul Harris (music teacher)

Paul Harris (* 1955 ) is an English music teacher , composer and clarinetist .

life and work

Paul Harris studied clarinet at the Royal Academy of Music (at which he was awarded the August Mann Prize) and music education at the University of London .

The focus of his work is on music pedagogical and didactic aspects, for example with publications such as "The Music Teacher's Companion" or textbooks for clarinet. He is also a regular contributor to music education and teaching in magazines such as "Music Teacher", "BBC Music Magazine" and "ABRSM's Libretto" and is the director of music education seminars in the UK and overseas. Together with Anthony Meredith Harris wrote a biography of the English composer Malcolm Arnold ("Malcolm Arnold: Rogue Genius").

In addition to numerous teaching pieces, Paul Harris' compositions also include five concerts, a ballet and a children's opera.
