Paul Rampold

Paul Rampold (born November 13, 1860 in Königsberg , † April 28, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German naval officer , most recently rear admiral as well as naval attaché and association functionary.

Life

Rampold joined the Imperial Navy on April 21, 1877 . In this one was deployed, among other things, as a ship officer overseas. So he commanded the Aviso Hela from 1898 to 1901 . On April 1, 1905 Rampold was as a naval attaché to Rome sent where he as a military diplomat in the next four years to 27 March 1909, the maintenance of marine political relations of the German Reich to the Italian State were incumbent. His successor in this post was Theodor Fuchs (1868–1942).

With his appointment as Rear Admiral in 1908, Rampold reached the climax of his career.

In the 1920s, Rampold served as Vice President of the Automobile Club of Germany . According to his obituary in the Automobilrundschau , he died in April 1926 “after a long illness”.
