Paul Schwingenschlögl

Paul Schwingenschlögl (* 1958 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician ( trumpet , flugelhorn , piano ) and composer who works at the intersection of improvised music, avant-garde rock and world music .

In the course of his career he demonstrated his talent in many areas: he composed for theater, film, contemporary music and modern jazz. Since he began as a professional musician in 1986, he has given concerts in numerous European countries (Hungary, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Finland) and Uzbekistan. He worked with renowned jazz musicians such as Gil Evans, Lew Soloff, George Adams, Louis Sclavis, Johannes Bauer, Joachim Kühn, E.-L. Petrowsky, Uli Gumpert, Joe Sachse, Klaus Koch, Misha Mengelberg, John Surman, Lol Coxhil and played with musicians from West Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Japan and India at world music festivals in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin and Barcelona.

In addition to live radio recordings for German, French and Austrian radio stations, he has recorded numerous albums and CDs over the course of his career. He also worked as a theater musician with various ensembles such as B. ZATA Theater, Theater Morgenstern, musician in the production of "Black Rider" at the Landestheater Neustrelitz. He also worked as a small actor in film and television productions. In 2013 he toured India with the band "Chronic Blues Circus".
