Paul Sharits
Paul Jeffrey Sharits (born February 7, 1943 in Denver , † July 8, 1993 in Buffalo ) was an American artist and filmmaker .
Life
Sharits was born in Denver and received a BFA in painting from the University of Denver's School of Art . He began working with 16mm film in the 1960s. He belonged to the experimental film movement .
Paul Sharits was a participant in Documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 in the department Individual Mythologies : Film , the Filmschau: New American Cinema and also represented at Documenta 6 in 1977 as an artist. In between, the Rolf Ricke / Projection Ursula Wevers gallery was his European contact point and venue.
He died on July 8, 1993.
