from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Tremaine and His Band from Lonely Acres was an American dance orchestra specializing in popular music .

The singer Paul Tremaine founded his orchestra in the late 1920s, which appeared as Paul Tremaine and His Band from Lonely Acres (named after the signature tune composed by Willard Robison ) mainly on the east coast of the USA . Her successful titles included "Four / Four Rhythm" (1929) and "I've Been Working on a Railroad". Their playing had a strongly arranged character in which the musicians' vocal interludes alternated with ensemble passages. The most famous musician was the trumpeter and later band leader Sonny Dunham . In the early 1930s, the orchestra had an engagement at Yoeng's Chinese-American restaurant on New York's Broadway . Recordings were made for the RCA Victor and Columbia labels . Tremaine retired briefly from the music business in the mid-1930s, but just a year later founded a new band with which he was active until the 1940s.
