Paulo Carvalho (boxer)

Paulo Carvalho (born February 26, 1986 in Salvador ) is a Brazilian boxer . He fights at light flyweight (up to 48 kg).

Career

Until the first qualifying tournament in North and South America for the 2008 Olympic Games , he did not appear internationally. Here he had to admit defeat to the Argentine Junior Zarate in the first fight . He was also nominated by Brazil for the 2nd American Olympic qualification tournament. Here he met Zarate again in the first fight, but this time he was able to prevail. He was also able to assert himself clearly in the quarter and semi-finals and then beat the Dominican Winston Méndez Montero in the final . So he qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games. There he was able to defeat the Moroccan Redouane Bouchtouk in the first round and the Ghanaian Manyo Plange in the second round , before being eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Cuban Yampier Hernández .
