The bell tower of the Pauluskirche Lüneburg

The church is a central building with an oval floor plan with a convex vaulted roof. The building is surrounded by a flat covered colonnade. From a bird's eye view, this church looks like a boat surrounded by a catwalk. The free-standing bell tower is reminiscent of a tuning fork rising into the sky , with the prongs of the square bell housing fitted. Exposed concrete, wood, glass and stainless steel were used for the construction.

The interior is illuminated by the diaphanous , gridded walls, only the area behind the altar and pulpit is completely paneled with wood, as is the ceiling with wood. In 1999 the ribbon windows that extend along the ceiling, taking up the curved lines of the ceiling, were colored lead-glazed according to designs by Helge Michael Breig (* 1930). The tower is popularly known as the “ clothes peg ” because of its unusual shape and has thus become the landmark of the Kreideberg district.

Outbuildings

In addition to the church building, there are business premises for the community and the association of socio-therapeutic institutions, group and meeting rooms, the “Kreideberg youth cafe” and a larger hall.
