Helge Michael Breig (born December 28, 1930 in Naumburg (Saale) ) is a German painter and sculptor .

Life

After attending the Hermann Lietz schools in Grovesmühle and Haubinda, Breig completed an apprenticeship as a painter in Celle from 1949 to 1952 , where he came into contact with the artist Erich Klahn . In 1949 he studied applied and free painting and sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under Rudolf Yelin , Willi Baumeister and Professor Baum, among others . Study trips took him to France, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Since 1960 he has been working as a freelance painter and sculptor in Hanover. Breig took on numerous orders for the design of sacred spaces.
