Haubinda is a district of the Westhausen community in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia . Westhausen is roughly northwest of Heldburg .

The village of Haubinda is located in the Heldburger Land on the border between Bavaria and Thuringia. The neighboring town in Bavaria is Trappstadt . The state road 2671 connects the place with the surrounding area.
history
Haubinda developed from a former manor . In 1317 the place was first mentioned as hay winds , in 1528 it is called Hainwinde . Haubinda has had its current name since 1750. The owners of the manor included:

- Bohlig family; for this managed Johann Daniel Elster the Good
In Haubinda there is a rural education home or boarding school , the Hermann-Lietz-Schule Haubinda with around 400 students, 140 of whom are housed in the boarding school.

To the northeast of the village is the Witches Hill, which is the highest elevation in the area at 417 meters. The name of the conical hill, flattened by human hands, the summit area of which is bordered by eight elms , indicates a pagan place of worship or sacrifice.
