Pavel Poc
Pavel Poc (born May 26, 1964 in Havlíčkův Brod ) is a Czech social democratic politician and member of the European Parliament . Like all members of the Česká strana sociálně democická, he belongs to the S&D parliamentary group .
Life
Pavel Poc studied biology at the Charles University in Prague , where he graduated with a doctorate in 1988. He then worked as a research assistant in the ethological laboratory of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic until 1992 . He then worked in the city of Marienbad , initially as the city's ecological officer, from 1993 as head of the environmental office, and from 1998 to 2002 he was the city's first deputy mayor. From 2003 to 2009 he was managing director of the municipal garden and park company.
Pavel Poc joined ČSSD in 1997 and has been deputy chairman of the Marienbad local association since 1998, member of the central executive committee since 2000 and member of the party executive committee since 2001. In 2009 he was elected to the European Parliament for the CSSD. Here he is a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and is a member of the delegation in the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between the EU and Russia.
