Dargocice ( German  Eickstedtswalde ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Gościno (community Groß Jestin) in the powiat Kołobrzeski (Kolberg district) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 20 kilometers south of Kołobrzeg ( Kolberg ) and about 95 kilometers northeast of Stettin ( Szczecin ). The village is located on the east bank of the elongated Kämitz lake , not far from the southern tip of this lake.

history

The area of the later Eickstedtswalde belonged to the knight estate Wartekow , which was acquired in 1828 by Heinrich von Eickstedt from the Pomeranian noble family Eickstedt . This forest was cleared as early as 1829 and the construction of a new manor, which was named Eickstedtswalde in 1834 and became his residence. In 1840 he separated Eickstedtswalde together with the Vorwerk Klein Vorbeck von Wartekow. The new unit was designated by the king as a manor suitable for the state assembly .

In 1895 Eickstedtswalde received a stop on the Groß Jestin – Stolzenberg line of the Kolberger Kleinbahn .

In 1928 Eickstedtswalde was sold to the non-profit district settlement company Kolberg, which divided up the estate and settled farmers.

Eickstedtswalde initially formed its own manor district . With the dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia, Eickstedtswalde was incorporated into the rural community of Wartekow for a short time in 1929. Because of the settlement of the estate, a separate rural community Eickstedtswalde was formed, to which, in addition to Eickstedtswalde itself and the previous Vorwerk Klein Vorbeck, the village of Groß Vorbeck south of it also belonged. The rural community Eickstedtswalde belonged to the district of Kolberg-Körlin in the administrative district of Köslin in the province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in May 1945 and then placed under Polish administration together with all of Western Pomerania. The German population was expelled in the period that followed . The village was given the Polish place name "Dargocice".

Today the village forms a Schulzenamt in the Polish Gmina Gościno (community Groß Jestin) . The places of Wierzbka Dolna (Groß Vorbeck) and Wierzbka Górna (Klein Vorbeck) to the south of the village also belong to the Schulzenamt . The three villages of the Schulzenamt have a total of 172 inhabitants (as of 2017).
