Wierzbka Dolna ( German  Groß Vorbeck ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Gościno (urban and rural community Groß Jestin) in the powiat Kołobrzeski (Kolberger Kreis) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 20 kilometers south of Kołobrzeg ( Kolberg ) and 95 kilometers northeast of Szczecin .

The nearest neighboring towns are about 500 meters north of Wierzbka Górna (Klein Vorbeck) , about another 500 meters north of Dargocice (Eickstedtswalde) and about 2 kilometers northeast of Wartkowo (Wartekow) . Landesstraße 6 runs about 2 kilometers south in a west-east direction , the course of which here corresponds to the former Reichsstraße 2 . The next places on the main road are Dębica (Damitz) in the west and Ramlewo (Ramelow) in the east .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1266, at that time under the name "Virbke". In 1276 he appeared as "Vyrbeke" in the possession of the Kolberg cathedral chapters . "Vorbecke" is entered on the Great Lubin map of the Duchy of Pomerania from 1618, but appears to be shifted far to the east south of Ramelow . All these mentions will refer to this place later called “Groß Vorbeck”, not to Klein Vorbeck to the north , which was first mentioned in 1605 and is probably a later foundation.

In the early modern period, Groß Vorbeck formed a Vorwerk for a long time , which was assigned to the manor Groß Pobloth located about 10 kilometers to the northeast . In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's description of the Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), it is listed by Groß Pobloth as "the associated field estate Groß-Vorbeck". But it had already been sold to a Martin Christian Löper, preacher at Strippow, and his mother in 1770/1771.

In 1895, Groß Vorbeck received a stop on the Groß Jestin – Stolzenberg line of the Kolberger Kleinbahn .

The owners of Groß Vorbeck changed frequently throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. The property had become an object of speculation on goods at the time. In 1930 GA Goltz finally acquired the estate and developed it into a potato breeding company until his death in 1944.

Since the 19th century, Groß Vorbeck had its own estate district , which covered an area of 346 hectares. With the dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia, Groß Vorbeck was incorporated into the rural community of Wartekow for a short time in 1929 . Soon, however, a new rural community Eickstedtswalde was formed after the settlement of Eickstedtswalde and Klein Vorbeck, to which Groß Vorbeck was also assigned. As part of the rural community Eickstedtswalde, Groß Vorbeck belonged to the Kolberg-Körlin district of the Pomerania province until 1945 .

In 1945, Groß Vorbeck, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The population was driven out . The place name was Polonized as "Wierzbka Dolna". The place is today in the Gmina Gościno (urban and rural community Groß Jestin) in the powiat Kołobrzeski (Kolberger Kreis) . There it belongs to the Dargocice Schulzenamt .
