The cargo ships of the Pacific series are multi-purpose general cargo ships from the Warnow shipyard .

history

The ships represent a further development of Type VI for the People's Republic of China. The series was manufactured in 1969/70 in three units, divided between a type Pacific I and two ships of the Pacific II type . The ships, which are designed as full-deckers, are primarily intended for the combined transport of general cargo, heavy cargo and industrial equipment, as well as refrigerated cargo and, in the case of the Pacific II type, also sweet oil.

  • The first ship in the series was the Hai Feng with hull number 360 , which was handed over on December 23, 1969. The ship was renamed Yu Hei in 1990 , He Fu in 1993 and Bravo in 1997 and demolished in 1998.
  • The second ship of the series was the Lu Feng, delivered on November 30, 1970 with hull number 361 . The ship was renamed Hua Rong in 1993 and is still in service.
  • The last ship of the series was the Xin Feng, delivered on December 23, 1970 with hull number 362 . The ship was renamed Nian Feng in 1993 and is still in service.

The long service life of the ships is noticeable in the series.

technology

The ships were propelled by an 8240 kW two-stroke diesel engine of the type K8Z70 / 120E, which acted directly on the four-blade fixed propeller and manufactured by the manufacturer VEB Dieselmotorenwerk Rostock under license from MAN .

The hulls with a bulbous bow and transom are assembled in a sectional construction.

The basic division is the same as for the 31 ships of type VI, with the type Pacific the first built Hai Feng / type Pacific I differ from the following two ships Lu Feng and Xin Feng of type Pacific II. All ships have five main holds with a partial tween deck. The Pacific I type has a cargo space of 14,991 m 3 grain space and 13,834 m 3 bale space, the Pacific II type has 12,076 m 3 grain space and 10,581 m 3 bale space. The refrigerated cargo holds installed only in the type Pazifik II have a further 3200 m 3 volume. The fresh oil tanks, which are also only installed in the Pacific II type, have a capacity of 1211 m 3 . The loading gear of the Pacific I type consists of a 2-ton boom , eight 3/5-ton booms and a 70-ton heavy-lift boom that can be swiveled through . The type Pacific II has a 5 / 3.2-ton crane, twelve 5 / 2.5-ton loading booms, four 10 / 2.5-ton loading booms and a 70 ton heavy-lift boom that can be pivoted through.
