Pedicellus

As pedicel in are Biology various short thread-like or stalk-like structures called. The name is derived from the Latin " pedicellus ", which stands for 'small stem'.

While in botany the pedicel is called the pedicellus, in zoology the pedicellus is the second link of the flagellum antenna of insects . The pedicellus of the insects carries the movable flagella and is therefore also called the turning link .
