Pedro Abaunza

Pedro Abaunza (* 1599 in Seville ; † 1649 ) was a Spanish scholar.

Life

Abaunza, who studied law, wrote a commentary on decretals entitled Ad titulum XV, de sagittariis libro V, decretalium praelectio and in the second volume of the Novus thesaurus iuris civilis et canonici (7 volumes, The Hague, 1751– 1754) was published by Gérard Meerman. Abaunza also wrote an unpublished commentary on epigrams by Martial in Spanish . This work was directed against the criticism that the French writer Théodore de Mareilly had made under the pseudonym Musambert of the Martial Commentary by Abaunza's compatriot Laurenz Ramirez de Prado.
