Pendekar Paul De Thouars

Pendekar or Pandeka is an honorary title in Indonesian martial arts and denotes the highest status according to the degree of skill and according to the rules (principles) or the philosophical doctrine of Pencak Silat . In addition, such a grand master must be able to perform silat shows and ritual, highly aestheticized fighting dances developed for demonstration . The degree “Pendekar” is divided into different levels and is comparable to the Japanese “ Dan ”.
