The Pennell Bank ( English ) is a submarine bank on the Antarctic continental shelf . It is located in the eastern part of the Ross Sea .
The bank's designation has been recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features since February 1964 . It is named after Harry Lewin Lee Pennell (1882–1916), first officer on board the Terra Nova in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
