Pente was a Hungarian car brand.

Company history

János Pentelényi developed a small car at Manfréd Weiss Stahl- und Metallwerke AG Csepel in Budapest between 1944 and 1948 , of which some prototypes were built.

The first model was the Pente 500 . The 560 kg vehicle had a frame made of C-profiles. All four wheels were individually suspended from transverse leaf springs. The streamlined body with a gently sloping windshield, free-standing headlights and two suicide doors offered space for four people. A two-cylinder two - stroke engine with a displacement of 500 cm³ and 15  hp (11 kW) in the rear provided the drive . The top speed of the vehicle was 90 km / h.

In 1948 the Pente 600 featured an engine with a capacity of 600 cm³ and 18 HP (13.5 kW) and a new, more modern body. The frame and chassis remained the same.
