MÁG was a Hungarian manufacturer of automobiles , engines and aircraft.
Company history
The company Magyar Általános Gépgyár (German: Allgemeine Hungarian Maschinenfabrik) was founded in Budapest in 1886 by Daniel Podvinecz and Wilhelm Heisler . Automobiles were manufactured under the brand name Phoenix between 1900 and 1908 . Subsequently, until 1912, cars were made under a license from Fiat. The brand name MÁG was not used until 1912 for vehicles based on its own designs. In 1914 the company moved to Mátyásföld . There also were Austro-Daimler - aircraft engines manufactured under license and 1916-1919 about 200 aircraft aviation automotive and aviation Werke AG and Fokkerwerke made. Production ended in 1929.
vehicles
A total of around 2100 automobiles were built between 1912 and 1929. The 25 hp and 35 hp models with four-cylinder engines were produced between 1912 and 1914. In 1920 the Magomobil model appeared with a four-cylinder engine and 1800 cc displacement , which was also exported. In 1926 the Magosix with a six-cylinder engine and 2400 cc displacement was added.
Probably Mag
In 1914 the brand name Wohl Mag was used for the export of taxis to England and Turkey .
