František Trojan & Alois Nagl, Továrna velocipedů a motocyklů Torpedo was a manufacturer of bicycles , motorcycles and automobiles from Austria-Hungary .

Company history

František Trojan (1877–1930) founded the company in Kolín in 1901 . Between 1903 and 1914, together with Alois Nagl (1878–1927), motorcycles with the brand name Torpedo were created . Automobiles were also made between 1906 and 1907. According to another source, only one car was completed and presented at the Prague Motor Show in 1907. Aircraft engines were also created later . After the First World War , two former employees founded Posejpal & Zwetschke in the same place.

Automobiles

The company manufactured small cars. A self-developed V2 engine with SV valve control , which developed 7 hp , provided the drive . The open body offered space for two people.

motorcycles

On the one hand, there were motorcycles with single-cylinder engines with a choice of 3.5 or 4 hp, on the other hand, two-cylinder engines with 6 and 8 hp, and as a one-off the Torpedo V4 from 1909.
