Thein & Goldberger was a manufacturer of bicycles , motorcycles and automobiles from Austria-Hungary .

Company history

The company was founded in 1894 or 1898 as a gear milling company. The company headquarters was at Löwengasse 18 in the 3rd district of Vienna. Repairs were later carried out on automobiles of all kinds. Motorcycles were produced between 1903 and 1905 and marketed as Reform . In 1906 the production of a motorized tricycle began. Automobiles were made between 1906 and 1907 or between 1907 and 1908. Their brand names were Thein & Goldberger and Reform . In 1913 the company was dissolved.

Built-in motors from Monarch Works in Birmingham provided the drive . The engines developed either 2.25 HP or 3 HP.

Motor tricycle

A special feature of the motor tricycle was that it was designed for women . The motor was mounted above the front wheel and propelled the front wheel via belts.

Automobiles

These were small cars. The open body offered space for two people. There was a choice between a single-cylinder engine and a two-cylinder engine with 996 cm³ displacement and 8 hp. The motors were air-cooled , with a fan assisting the cooling. The chassis weighed 260 kg. Only a few copies were made.
