The first Moravian factory for motorcycles and automobiles - Petr Kohout & Spol. (Czech: První moravská továrna motorových kol a vozů Petr Kohout & spol.) was a manufacturer of motorcycles and automobiles from Austria-Hungary .

Company history

1896 Petr Kohout founded the company in Brno as a workshop for bike repairs . In 1904 the production of motorcycles began. The brand name was Kohout . In 1905 automobiles added to the range. In 1906 65 workers were employed. Production ended in the same year. Some vehicles were also exported to Russia .

Automobiles

In 1905, two models were exhibited at the 2nd Prague Motor Show. The smaller model was a single seater. An air-cooled single-cylinder engine from Fafnir with 4 HP power initially powered the rear axle via belts. A chain later transmitted the engine power. The maximum speed was given as 30 km / h. The larger model had a water-cooled two - cylinder engine with 8 hp. There was space for two people.
