Pentik

Pentik is a Finnish company that produces furnishing materials, dishes and cooking products. The company operates on an international level. In 2003 the company was awarded the Good Employer Award by the Finnish Ministry of Labor . Pentik was voted Company of the Year in Finland in 2007. In 2007/2008 they received the Global Innovator Award (gia Award) from the International Housewares Association.

Company history

Pentik, the porcelain factory began in 1971 with Anu Pentik's leather and ceramic hobbies. The company first began operating in the children's room and basement in the Pentik family's house. A ceramics workshop was built the next year, and a café and shop followed right next door. The buildings later became a cultural center, Pentik-mäki. In 1974 the world's northernmost ceramics factory was opened in Posio , with a new leather studio and showroom at the same time. Pentik is now the largest employer in the Posio region. The first store opened in Helsinki in 1976 . This shop soon became known as a shop for high-quality designer leather products.

Pentik today

Pentik is an international furniture store chain. The company has over 80 stores in Finland, Norway and Sweden and Russia . With its own private label, Pentik designs diverse collections together with selected cooperation partners from all over the world. Together with the Pentiks basic collection, changing seasonal collections appear four times a year, offering versatile products for furnishing and household.

The company's own ceramic factory is located in Posio in Finnish Lapland . The factory produces over a million ceramic products a year. More than 300 people currently work for the company, and in 2008 Pentik's turnover was over 35.3 million euros.

Products

Pentik manufactures various tableware, glass and cooking products. The tableware series includes, for example, plates, drinking glasses and bowls. Each series has its own name. The glass series contains wine glasses, vases and jugs. Cutlery, tablets and napkins can be found in the cooking products. Pentik also makes textiles, home furnishings and furniture. These products vary from bedding and bath towels to lamps and wooden jewelry.

Pentik studio

In the Pentik Studio, handmade ceramic art is produced for furnishing the house, mostly bowls. The products are made in small series and decorated by hand. The inspiration for the art comes from the nature of Lapland. In 2009 a gallery was built next to the Pentik Studio. The ceramic exhibitions are renewed twice a year.

Services

Pentik also offers services such as wedding services. Pentik also offers the creation of gift lists and wish lists among its services, for example for weddings. You can also buy gift vouchers. Companies have the option of ordering promotional gifts. These gift packages can be planned individually with the help of Pentik.
