description

It is the largest about 50 m long and over 25 m wide, so-called "Chambered Long Cairn" of the Cotswold Severn Tomb type , which is about four meters high. The complex is relatively well preserved, only a large piece of the cairn is missing in the southeast , making three chambers and the structure of the hill structure visible. It appears that the cairn was originally bordered by curbs. The damaged part was dug by Savory in June 1972. A number of human remains were found along with a bone flute and some worked pieces of flint . The damaged chambers are in the southwest and southeast. The remains of another entrance lie near the north side. There are probably more chambers hidden under the hill. At the south end there are some massive stones, one of which is about three meters high and forms the false door .
