Crannóg in Llangorse Lake

The Welsh Crannóg Center is the reconstruction of a crannóg in the north of Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in south Wales , near Llangorse, in Powys . The Crannóg was probably built in 916 AD by the king of the early medieval kingdom of Brycheiniog.

The Llan-Gors Crannóg is the only Crannóg to be found west of Ireland and south of Scotland. The majority of these artificial islands are located in Ireland and Scotland , where the " Scottish Crannòg Center " in Kenmore on Loch Tay forms the counterpart.

The reconstruction is a viewing platform built into the lake, which is supposed to resemble the buildings on the Crannóg at the time of its construction, and is used as an information center.
