The People's National Party ( PNP ) is a party founded in Jamaica in 1938 that combines elements of social democracy with those of socialism . In the 1970s , the PNP stood for a policy that was comparable to Fidel Castro's in Cuba .

The most important opponent of the left-wing people 's party PNP is the economically liberal Jamaica Labor Party (JLP).
