Pearl crown

flat pearl crown

The flat pearl crown is a Swedish crown and was reserved for the barons and counts . On the browband it has a circumferential layer of sixteen pearls and only four pearls evenly distributed in the seated position. In the illustration, only eight pearls and three perched above the browband are visible. On Finnish coats of arms it has taken on the function of a heraldic crown . But it is also regarded as the crown of rank and baron for Norway and the Russian Baltic provinces. In descriptions it is described as a flat pearl crown to distinguish it, since pearl crowns with towering, pearl-adorned prongs of different numbers are known for the various ranks of the nobility.
