Persona (satellite)
Persona ( Russian Персона , GRAU index 14F137, also Kvarts ) is the name of a new generation of Russian optical-electronic reconnaissance satellites . Persona is built by ZSKB-Progress in Samara and is presumably based either on a newly designed propulsion and service module or on the construction of the Resurs-DK Earth observation satellite, which in turn is a modernized version of the Neman reconnaissance aircraft. The payload (telescope and sensors) is manufactured by Lomo and is supposed to be a modification of the Araks payload- be satellites. The launch mass is in the range of seven tons. The planned service life is given as seven years.

The launch of the first Persona satellite was also the first launch of a Soyuz 2.1b from Plesetsk. Since the first two satellites did not work as expected, another satellite from the Kobalt-M series was launched in May 2014 . This series has a much shorter lifespan and was actually no longer intended for operation.
