The Persson Island ( swedish N. Persson Ön ) is a 2.5 km long island off the southwest coast of James Ross Island in the Antarctic Weddell Sea . It is located in the entrance to Röhss Bay .
They were discovered by participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by Otto Nordenskjöld . Nordenskjöld named it after consul Nils Persson (1836–1916) from Helsingborg , a sponsor of the research trip .
