The Röhss Bay ( Swedish Röhss Bukt ) is a bay between Cape Broms and Cape Obelisk on the southwest side of James Ross Island off the northeast coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is occupied by the ice masses of the Prinz Gustav Ice Shelf .
The bay was discovered during the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . He named it after the twin brothers August (1834-1904) and Wilhelm Röhss (1834-1900), wholesalers from Gothenburg , who had financially supported his research trip .
