The pesata was a unit of mass ( measure of weight) on the islands of Malta and Gozo . The measure was a Sicilian firewood measure. The rotoli mentioned here is also a Sicilian. A Cantaro / Cantajo / Cantaio or the hundredweight with 100 rotoli was equivalent to 79.342 kilograms. The pre-decimal places are the most useful ones in practice.
