Banknote for 10 pessetas (obverse) from 1936

The pesseta was the currency of Andorra during the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939 . One pesseta was equal to 100 centims .

The emergency money was issued by the Consell General De Les Valls d'Andorra when the Spanish peseta became unusable as a currency during the civil war. There were banknotes of 1, 2, 5, and 10 pessetas as well as 50 centims. All are dated December 19, 1936. The inscription is in Catalan , the official language of Andorra.

After the end of the civil war, the Spanish peseta and the French franc became the official currency of Andorra again.
