Plague column in Trumau

The Plague Trumau is in the Church street in front of the Catholic parish in the village of Trumau in the district of Baden in Lower Austria . The plague column is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

For the erection of the plague column, master stonemason Wolfgang Ecker names the years 1720 to 1730 as the restorer, while Dehio mentions 1755 according to the dedication inscription.

The location of the plague column was on the main square at the corner of Moosbrunner Strasse and Leopold-Figl-Strasse next to the bell tower. In the course of the restoration in 2007, it was moved to Kirchengasse in front of the Catholic rectory at the municipal office.

The plague column is surrounded by a stone balustrade . The three-sided column as a cloud obelisk with a strong cornice is crowned with a trinity group . On the base there is a relief of the reclining St. Rosalia with the attributes of cross and skull and inscription panels between squat square pillars, above on the column the statue of St. Maria Immaculata (wreath of stars, snake at her feet, dedication inscription). The statues of St. Karl Borromeo , Rochus and Sebastian .

The inscriptions read:
